The Tao

The Tao (or Dao) translates to “the Way” in Chinese and is the central concept of Daoism. Legendary philosopher and spiritualist Laozi conceptualized this unique blend of philosophy and spirituality in the ancient Chinese text, the Tao Te Ching (or Daodejing). The Tao Te Ching explains the basis of Taoism: the nature of the Creative Source (the Divine), its manifestation into the material world, and the path we travel in life that connects us back to this Source.

The basic premise of this text is that the root of all Being — both matter and energy — is the Creative Source of Non-Being.
